Jake Paul has reportedly signed one of the world’s best featherweights to his Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) company.According to combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, Kyrgyzstan’s undefeated MMA star, Razhabali Shaydullaev, is set to begin a two-year deal with MVP from January 2027.Paul, alongside MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian, left, will merge his promotion with PFL CEO John Martin, right, from January 2027PFLShaydullaev became the first-ever dual champion between Japanese MMA promotion RIZIN and the PFL on Thursday by defeating American AJ McKee in Osaka in front of more than 48,000 fans.Despite Shaydullaev vs McKee being a RIZIN event, the promotion had partnered with the PFL to put both organisations’ featherweight titles on the line. The double title main event, according to the PFL, represented a ‘major new chapter’ between two organisations ‘committed to creating opportunities for fighters to compete across promotional and geographical boundaries.’And Shaydullaev defeated McKee by unanimous decision after three rounds in the main event clash to retain his RIZIN featherweight title and claim the PFL’s 145lbs belt.He is now set to become the first addition to Paul’s MVP MMA merger with the PFL, which is expected to get underway from January 1, 2027, with the PFL switching all of its branding to MVP.“Shaydullaev has one fight left with RIZIN, and that will likely take place on NYE,” Helwani wrote on X.“I’m told he has a two-year deal in place with PFL/MVP which commences in January.“Done deal. That commences in January. That’s a great addition to their roster.“He’s without question the best 145lbs fighter outside the UFC.”Helwani added that Shaydullaev will likely face 20-year-old prospect Kyoma Akimoto in the last fight of his RIZIN deal before transitioning to MVP MMA.View Tweet: https://x.com/hashtag/SUPERRIZIN5?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5EtfwWho is MMA star Shaydullaev?Shaydullaev is undefeated in 20 professional MMA fights, having contested his first bout in 2019.The 25-year-old claimed RIZIN featherweight gold for the first time by knocking out Kleber Koike in one round in May 2025 and has since defended the belt four times.News of his addition to MVP MMA’s roster, which could also include Francis Ngannou next year, comes just days after Paul expressed interest in signing former UFC fighter Michael ‘Venom’ Page.Despite securing his fourth consecutive UFC win in Paris last weekend, the promotion decided against re-signing Page to a new deal.“I don’t think we’re signing him, no,” UFC CEO White said this week amid confusion over whether Page would be offered a new contract.“I think it’s been pretty clear that he wasn’t being re-signed, and that he would be taken out of the rankings, because he’s no longer on the roster.”Shaydullaev is one of the best featherweights in the worldXThe decision not to offer Page a new deal seems largely due to the Londoner’s performances in the Octagon, as he has failed to secure a finish in all five of his wins. But Paul believes the 39-year-old has much more to give in the cage.“Think it’s time to bring MVP to MVP,” Paul wrote on X on Wednesday.
