Over the past few days, after the strong paroxysm episode, abundant ash emissions has been rising from the summit vent. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin reported the ash plume reaching 50,000 ft (15,200 m) altitude to the west of the volcano. The latest satellite acquisition by the ESA's Sentinel-2 from 8 September identified a strong thermal anomaly (Short wave infrared composite (SWIR)) indicating a lava flow on the southern flank.
