Five boys reportedly threw eggs at a public bus while it was carrying passengers through Żabbar shortly after midnight, causing slight damage to the vehicle’s windshield.According to an eyewitness who contacted Lovin Malta, the incident happened at around 12:45am on Triq il-Mina ta’ Hompesch.The boys reportedly fled the scene after throwing the eggs, with the eyewitness chasing after them and recording a video. The footage captures the faces of two of the boys.The incident took place while the bus was still in service, with the driver informing Malta Public Transport about what had happened. They were reportedly told that once the bus had left the scene, it would not be possible to report the incident to police.The eyewitness said the driver subsequently allowed them to share the footage in the hope that members of the public in the Fgura or Żabbar area may be able to help identify the teenagers.A spokesperson for Malta Public Transport strongly condemned the incident, stating that ‘Malta Public Transport strongly condemns this incident. Any form of verbal or physical abuse towards bus drivers is unacceptable, illegal, and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in collaboration with the respective authorities.’Anyone with information that could assist in identifying those involved is encouraged to contact the relevant authorities.•
