A dolphin found struggling in the open sea off the Żejtun-Buġibba area was given a helping hand after a group of boaters spotted it entangled in what appears to be rope. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Footage sent to Lovin Malta shows the encounter, which took place on 3rd September, with the dolphin appearing weak and struggling to move freely in the water.Rope can be seen wrapped around the dolphin’s tail, seemingly restricting its movement.The boaters approach the animal before one of them manages to cut through the rope and free its tail.The dolphin can then be seen regaining some movement in the water, although it still appears visibly tired and weak following the ordeal.It remains unclear how long the dolphin had been entangled or what happened after the footage ended, but the intervention successfully freed it from the rope restricting its movement.A beautiful act of kindness at sea.Video: Tony Seisun•
