Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) has launched a new ocean research vessel for the Ministry of Earth Sciences, with Union minister Jitendra Singh virtually launching the ship. The 89.5-metre vessel is designed for multidisciplinary oceanographic research, deep-sea exploration and seismic surveys, and will operate at depths of up to 6,000 metres while supporting scientists with laboratories and specialised equipment.
