Silver takes a dropSilver / U.S. DollarFOREXCOM:XAGUSDFOREXcomSilver has given up yesterday's entire gains. We have also seen a sharp 3% decline copper, while gold was down but to a lesser degree. Bond yields continue to press higher along with oil, and now the dollar is also making a comeback ahead of inflation data. It looks like the market is ready to shelve the dollar debasement trade, allowing the USD to respond more positively to oil and yields, and data. It is indeed a positive macro backdrop for the dollar had it not been for the dollar debasement narrative. Anyway, silver is potentially on the cusp of a bigger drop here having struggled near the $68 area, and before around the $70 zone where it formed THAT large engulfing candle on August 28 - i think that may well have been the turning point. Some potential support levels highlight on the chart, but as things stand I am not expecting much dip-buying in this market. By Fawad Razaqzada, FOREX.com analyst
