Disney Parks has a lot happening across the globe right now, and the next few years are shaping up to be especially busy.Construction crews are already working on major projects, while Disney continues to reveal new details about what guests can expect. Some plans have been known for a while, but their timelines haven’t always been as clear. That picture is finally coming into focus.Following Disney’s latest announcements, we now have official timelines for four major lands and expansions arriving in 2027 and 2028. Some are moving ahead as expected, while others will require fans to wait longer than many originally anticipated. Here’s where each project currently stands.Avengers Campus Is Getting Much BiggerDisney California Adventure is in the midst of a major Avengers Campus expansion that will eventually add two significant attractions to Disneyland Resort.Avengers Infinity Defense will send guests across the Marvel Multiverse as the Avengers attempt to stop King Thanos. Disney plans to combine large physical sets with screen-based effects, while several familiar Marvel actors will return to their roles, including Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Mackie.Stark Flight Lab will offer a very different experience.Guests will initially board a vehicle that travels along a track and into Stark Labs. From there, the vehicle will connect to a robotic arm designed to simulate the feeling of flying in Iron Man-style technology.Disney has also lined up familiar faces for this attraction. Robert Downey Jr. will return as Tony Stark, with Brie Larson appearing as Captain Marvel and Anthony Mackie returning as Sam Wilson. With construction already underway, there had been plenty of reason to wonder if the expansion could arrive in 2027. Disney has now cleared that up, confirming both attractions for 2028.Final Timeline: 2028. A specific opening month has not been announced. Any month prediction remains speculation until Disney provides a narrower window.Credit: DisneyAnimal Kingdom’s Next Era Arrives SoonWalt Disney World has its own enormous transformation underway at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where Tropical Americas will introduce the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza. The land’s biggest new family attraction will be Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, inspired by Encanto (2021). Guests will enter the Madrigal Casita and join Antonio after he receives his ability to communicate with animals. The attraction will have no height requirement and feature returning members of the movie’s voice cast. Disney also plans to fill the experience with 50 different animals.Adventure will take a more intense turn with Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, replacing DINOSAUR. Set in the 1950s, the story follows Indiana Jones into a South American temple and, eventually, the Mayan underworld.Guests will encounter everything from bats and scorpions to fire and snakes during the escape. Disney will also use Harrison Ford’s likeness for the Indiana Jones Audio-Animatronic.El Carrusel de los Animalitos rounds out the ride lineup with 22 Disney characters, including Heimlich from A Bug’s Life (1998), Pua from Moana (2016), and Kevin from Up (2009).Final Timeline: 2027. Disney has not confirmed a month, though a late-2027 debut appears possible given the project’s scale. That timing is speculation. This could likely be a fall-to-winter opening in 2027.Credit: DisneyTomorrowland Has Two Big Debuts AheadTokyo Disneyland is also preparing for a dramatically different Tomorrowland, with two attractions scheduled for 2027.Space Mountain Earthrise will completely reimagine the park’s former Space Mountain experience while retaining the basic idea of an indoor roller coaster. The new attraction will use a powerful launch to propel riders into space, then surround them with new lighting, audio, and effects inspired by cosmic phenomena. Its Earthrise theme focuses on viewing Earth from beyond the moon and emphasizing the planet’s beauty.Meanwhile, Sugar Rush Sweet Rescue will replace Buzz Lightyear’s former attraction.Inspired by Wreck-It Ralph (2012), the interactive experience will have guests join Ralph and Vanellope to save Sugar Rush from King Candy’s bugs. Riders will use blasters to transform the creatures back into sweets such as cakes and cookies.Final Timeline: 2027. Sugar Rush Sweet Rescue is officially targeting spring 2027, while Space Mountain Earthrise has only been confirmed for 2027. The area will likely start opening in April or May.Credit: Shenghung Lin, FlickrMonstropolis Will Open in StagesDisney’s Hollywood Studios will welcome Monstropolis in 2027, but guests shouldn’t expect every piece of the new land to debut simultaneously. The biggest attraction is Disney’s suspended door-vault coaster inspired by Monsters, Inc. (2001). The ride will recreate the movie’s famous factory sequence, including a lift that takes riders roughly 40 feet in four seconds. However, Disney has confirmed the coaster won’t be ready when Monstropolis initially opens.Instead, the first phase will include The Glob Theater and its “Welcome to Monstropolis” show, hosted by Mike and Sulley. Guests will also find Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, the Monsters University Alumni Club, Scareporium shop, and Harryhausen’s restaurant. That makes 2027 the beginning of Monstropolis rather than the completion of the entire project.Final Timeline: 2027 for the land’s first phase. Disney hasn’t announced a month yet, but many fans speculate it will be in summer 2027. The door coaster will follow later on a separate, currently unconfirmed timeline.Credit: DisneyDisney’s 2027 and 2028 Plans Are Taking ShapeThe next two years will bring substantial changes across Disney’s parks.Tropical Americas, Monstropolis, and Tokyo Disneyland’s Tomorrowland projects all have 2027 targets, while Disneyland Resort’s Avengers Campus expansion is officially set for 2028.There are still opening dates Disney needs to reveal, particularly for individual attractions. But after years of concept art, construction updates, and broad promises, guests finally have a much clearer idea of when these major additions will become reality. The post Disney World and Disneyland Lock In Official 2027 and 2028 Timelines for 4 New Additions appeared first on Inside the Magic.
