A Fort Lauderdale Airport traveler said he stopped at a Delta Sky Club for coffee and then noticed how the lounge appeared to store the milk for its machines. Brian David, who posts on TikTok as @hotmessxpresurself, shared a video of the coffee station that he said left him concerned. On-screen text in the video read, “Oh don’t get milk with your coffee at the @delta sky club.” In the caption, he wrote, “Was at the delta sky club and noticed they store the milk for the coffee machines in non-refrigerated cabinets.” The clip had gained 237,500 views. The video first showed a coffee station with three machines on the counter. Below the counter, a cabinet door was open. Two large plastic jugs of 2% Reduced Fat Milk sat inside. A blue tube ran from one machine into the top of one jug, which he indicated was supplying milk to the machine. David indicated that the cabinet did not look like a refrigerated unit. He suggested that placement raised questions about the milk’s temperature. David did not say how long the jugs had been in the cabinet or what temperature the milk reached. According to the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service guidance, milk can be refrigerated at 40 degrees Fahrenheit for seven days. Buttermilk can stay in the refrigerator about two weeks. Milk or buttermilk may be frozen for about three months.
