The spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces has warned of a severe response after Saudi warplanes carried out dozens of airstrikes across the country over the past 12 hours, causing extensive damage to residential areas and civilian infrastructure.Brigadier General Yahya Saree said in a statement on Wednesday that Saudi warplanes carried out 54 strikes in the northern provinces of al-Jawf and Sa’ada, the central provinces of al-Bayda and Ma’rib, the western province of Hudaydah, and the southwestern province of Ta’izz.“The Saudi enemy’s attempts to evade accountability for its crimes and aggression against our nation will not spare it from the grave consequences. The Riyadh regime cannot escape the severe repercussions of its aggression, no matter how hard it tries to conceal its brutalities, and it must await a decisive response for its atrocities,” Saree stated.He said the F-15 fighter jets of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) took off from King Khalid Air Base near Khamis Mushait in southwestern Saudi Arabia to carry out the attacks.Saree added that a Saudi Eurofighter Typhoon multirole fighter jet took off from King Fahd Air Base in Taif and carried out strikes on multiple locations in Yemen’s al-Jawf province.Earlier, Saree stated that a Saudi F-15 warplane launched two airstrikes on the Central Corrective Facility in the al-Hazm district of al-Jawf province on Monday.He noted that the Saudi airstrikes killed and wounded numerous inmates and visitors, including women and children.Yemen Launches Massive Missile, Drone Barrage on Saudi Aramco FacilitiesOn July 20, the Sana’a government declared a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia in response to Riyadh’s “unjust and oppressive siege” of Yemen, for nearly 12 years that involved “exploiting our resources and imposing a complete blockade.”The Yemeni armed forces have subsequently announced many successful operations targeting Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea.In March 2015, Saudi Arabia, backed by its allies, imposed a blockade on Yemen and launched an all-out military campaign, with the United States and several Western countries providing military, political, and logistical support.Tens of thousands of Yemenis have been killed in the Saudi-led war, but Riyadh has failed to achieve its primary objective of reinstating a puppet regime that aligns with its interests.
