Ghana repatriates Barosky from Manchester, offers reintegration support

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has confirmed the successful repatriation of a Ghanaian known as Barosky from Manchester in the United Kingdom to Ghana.The Ministry said Barosky was safely brought back to the country last night as part of efforts to assist Ghanaians facing difficult circumstances abroad.According to the Ministry, it fully sponsored his repatriation and is providing additional support to help him reintegrate into society.“I can confirm that we have repatriated Barosky and he is safely back with us in Ghana,” the Ministry stated.It added that Barosky is receiving psychosocial support and reintegration financial assistance as he settles back in the country.The Ministry expressed gratitude to Ghanaians who helped draw attention to his plight, particularly broadcaster Nana Romeo, whose intervention helped bring the case to the attention of the authorities.“We are most grateful to our fellow citizens, particularly Nana Romeo, for bringing Barosky’s heart-wrenching plight in Manchester to our attention,” the Ministry said.It also commended Ghana’s High Commission in the United Kingdom for what it described as impressive coordination in facilitating the repatriation.The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ghanaian nationals who find themselves in distress abroad.“We strive to leave no Ghanaian behind,” it said.
