Siġġiewi is getting ready to celebrate its agricultural roots as Festa Għeneb 2026 takes over Pjazza San Nikola on Saturday 12th September.Home to more than 530,000 square metres of vineyards, Siġġiewi will put its grape-growing and winemaking traditions centre stage, with local farmers and artisans showcasing their produce throughout the evening.Visitors will be able to sample different Malta-grown grape varieties alongside locally produced wines, while a dedicated wine-tasting area will return following its success last year.The evening will also feature an amateur wine competition, live “Cooking with the Mayor” sessions, traditional Maltese food, agricultural displays, classic cars, folk music and dancing.Families are also being catered for, with a dedicated children’s area and a Quiet Room for neurodivergent children available inside the Civic Centre.Organised by the Siġġiewi Local Council with support from the Local Government Division and Western Region, proceeds raised throughout the evening will go towards Id-Dar tal-Providenza.Wine, food, tradition and a celebration of the farmers keeping Siġġiewi’s agricultural heritage alive.Share with a wine lover in your life!•
