Walt Disney World Resort has introduced new versions of several classic characters, including Winnie the Pooh, Tinker Bell, Cinderella, and more. Unlike the old machines, which feature a hand crank and flatten a coin provided by the guest, the new machines have a screen and flatten blank copper coins stocked inside the dispenser. Guests can purchase one design for $1 in cash, or eight designs for $5 in cash or by card.On September 9, WDWNT reported that at least two more next-generation pressed-penny machines had been installed throughout the Disney Springs shopping, dining, and entertainment district. It features eight designs inspired by classic Disney Princesses, including Tinker Bell from Peter Pan (1953), Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Cinderella from Cinderella (1950), Belle from Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aurora from Sleeping Beauty (1959), Ariel from The Little Mermaid (1989), Rapunzel from Tangled (2010), and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog (2009).Unlike many of the dispensers throughout the Central Florida Disney parks and hotels, the Disney Princess pressed-penny machine isn’t themed to its location.
