A total of 24 people have been detained after inspections in Marsa found they were allegedly living and working illegally in Malta.The operation was carried out by the Malta Police Force with the assistance of Detention Services officials following several reports received in recent days.Police said the individuals had been in Malta illegally for several months and were stopped at various locations during inspections around Marsa.Home Affairs and Security Minister Glenn Bedingfield also highlighted the operation on social media, saying all 24 individuals are expected to be returned either to their countries of origin or to countries where they have a legal right to reside.According to police, those detained are from countries in Africa and Asia.Authorities said procedures are now underway for their return.•
