It’s a relatively new course that was originally designed by Greg Norman before it had a complete overhaul by Martin Hawtree (a regular renovator for both Trump and the R&A). Expect dramatic scenery, changeable weather, more Rory McIlroy love from the galleries, and an appearance from President Donald Trump at some stage in the week. Jon Rahm winRory McIlroy has won the Irish Open twice and both times at The K Club. He did lose a playoff at Royal County Down in 2024, but his links efforts have tended to disappoint. He has six top 20s from 14 starts this season and can land another this week.
