Cage also seemed to feast on the material in the Prime Video show, giving fans a highlight reel of the kind of fantastic acting choices only he can make as Reilly.Prime Video has never confirmed the budget for Spider-Noir, which was available to watch in both color and black and white, but rumors once swirled online that it may have spent up to $400 million making it. K.C. Lauf, who worked on Spider-Noir’s second unit crew, also revealed on Threads that the color version of the series was originally unplanned and it “required reshoots for almost a year,” which may have increased the cost of making the show considerably. Even if the streamer spent half as much as the rumors suggested, its ultimately underwhelming viewership could have contributed to the cancellation decision. Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television’s Marvel deal is set to continue, despite Spider-Noir’s cancellation and a previous effort based on the character of Silk shelved before it even got off the ground. That show was reportedly nixed in favor of pursuing Spider-Noir, but now that a bow has been tied on its lone season, it’s unclear which Spidey spinoff project will make it to fruition next.
