A man has been caught on CCTV apparently removing a television from a St Paul’s Bay establishment in the middle of the night, with its owners claiming they have been targeted by several thefts in the space of a week.Footage shared by The Sea Cloud shows a man approaching the establishment at around 2.55am, before appearing to handle and remove an object from the premises.The establishment identified the object as a television which it said had been securely mounted and covered. View this post on InstagramA post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)“We have been victims of several thefts this week, always during the night,” The Sea Cloud said when publishing the footage on social media.The establishment alleged that the same individual had previously stolen chairs from the premises and said it has CCTV evidence linking him to the incidents.The repeated incidents have now prompted concerns among staff about what could happen if someone encounters the alleged thief during the night.“Our staff are now genuinely afraid of a potential confrontation or assault,” the establishment said. “What will happen next – will he steal our money or attack one of our employees?”“We cannot wait until something worse happens.”The Sea Cloud said police are investigating and appealed to anyone who recognises the individual captured on camera to come forward with information.“Please share – we urgently need to identify him,” it said.Lovin Malta has reached out to the Malta Police Force to independently confirm whether investigations into the reported thefts are ongoing.•
