Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Hon. Erias Luyimbazi Nalukoola, has opened up about his early inspiration to venture into the music industry, revealing that Jamaican dancehall star Shaggy played a role in influencing his decision.Nalukoola explained that he was drawn to Shaggy’s laid-back and slow-paced musical style because he identified with the Jamaican star’s delivery and personality.According to the legislator, Shaggy’s ability to make music while maintaining a slow and relaxed style inspired him to give music a shot during his school days.“Shaggy used to sing and he had a bit of something that goes slow, which is similar to me since I’m a man who also speaks and goes slow, so I was somehow inspired.”Beyond music, Nalukoola also reflected on his involvement in Uganda’s political activism, particularly during the OTT protests, when several people were arrested and taken to court.He recalled offering legal representation to some of the protesters at the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court, an experience that later exposed him to deeper political engagement.“During the OTT protests, many of our people were arrested and taken to court.
