I’ve been trying to find a YouTuber I watched roughly 15 years ago, probably sometime around 2009–2013. She wasn’t a major/famous beauty guru as far as I remember — more like a relatively small but established teenage vlogger. Here’s everything I can remember: White teenage girl, probably American or Canadian Petite/thin Shoulder-length very dark brown or possibly black hair Wore makeup, but nothing particularly heavy I vaguely remember her having a slight lisp, but I’m not 100% confident about that She was in regular high school and talked about school, boys, crushes/boyfriends, etc. I don’t remember her being particularly funny or doing comedy/skits. Her videos were more earnest, slightly awkward, conversational/storytime-ish. She seemed to know what she was doing with YouTube — decent camera/setup and intentional framing — but didn’t feel like a huge influencer No memorable intro/outro that I can recall Bedroom/setup: A lot of her videos were filmed sitting on her bed, talking directly to the camera. I remember this surprisingly clearly. I believe it was a queen-size bed with a window on either side of it. There was a desk in front of the bed/camera area and a closet to the right. The bedroom was fairly plain rather than the colorful, heavily decorated “beauty guru” bedroom look. Content: She made a lot of videos that were basically things a teenage girl might want an older sister to explain. I specifically remember something along the lines of how to shave your legs, but she also talked about things like periods/tampons, bras, hygiene, makeup, dating/boys, school, jobs, and general teenage-life stuff. I’m not certain “How to Shave Your Legs” or “Things Girls Should Know” were actual video titles — that’s more the kind of content I remember her making. She also made personal/storytime videos rather than exclusively tutorials. One other distinctive memory: She had a yellow Volkswagen Beetle/New Beetle, probably the older rounded generation, and it appeared fairly regularly. I remember her filming videos/vlogs from inside the car as well. I’m reasonably confident about the yellow Beetle, although I’m less certain about exactly which model year/generation it was. I don’t think she was religious or that religion was part of the channel. My vague memory is suburban teenager, possibly living with a single parent, but those details are less certain. I’ve searched quite a bit and haven’t found her. I’m starting to suspect the channel may have been deleted, renamed, made private, or simply wasn’t large enough for old videos to remain well indexed. Does this ring a bell for anyone who watched teenage vlog/advice YouTube around 2009–2013? Even an old username that sounds vaguely familiar would help. submitted by /u/crunchysourdoughgirl [link] [comments]
