Justin Simmons is embarking on a new career path. The former Denver Broncos safety announced his retirement from the NFL back in April at the age of 32. Former Broncos star Simmons has landed a new role at CBS following his retirement from the NFLGettyBut he hasn’t left football behind him for good, having stepped into a new role with CBS Sports HQ as an NFL analyst. He took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the news. “Thrilled for the opportunity to join CBS Sports HQ as an NFL Analyst,” he wrote. “Can’t wait for kickoff this Sunday, looking forward to joining my new teammates on Gameday Scoreboard & Scoreboard Final. “Excited to be a part of it all!Selected in the third round – 98th overall – of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Boston College, Simmons would go on to become a four-time All-Pro. In nine seasons – eight with the Broncos and one with the Atlanta Falcons – he featured in 134 games, where he recorded 32 interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. The two-time Pro Bowler also recorded five forced fumbles, and had three fumble recoveries, whilst making 666 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, five QB hits, and 4.5 total sacks. Ryan Clark, who currently finds himself unemployed after being dumped by ESPN back in August, was one of the first to congratulate Simmons on his new role. “Congrats!” he commented under Simmons’ Instagram announcement. He wasn’t the only one, as former Broncos teammate and 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain II also commented, writing “Yea ”Whilst many others, including Darius Slay, Phillip Lindsay, and Marvin Mims Jr. kept their messages short and sweet, former teammate PJ Locke, who shared five seasons on the field with Simmons was more playful. “Congrats on the next chapter sucka!
