Government, private medical colleges to adopt health centres across Karnataka - The HinduPublished - September 12, 2026 10:59 pm IST - BengaluruUnder the initiative, every government and private medical college will adopt one taluk hospital, one community health centre and one primary health centre and provide specialist medical services, training, quality improvement and other healthcare support, according to the circular. | Photo Credit: Getty ImagesTo strengthen specialist healthcare services at the grassroots level, the State government has asked public and private medical colleges in Karnataka to adopt taluk hospitals, community health centres, and primary health centres.The Health and Medical Education departments have issued a joint circular to this effect as part of the Chief Minister’s 100-day programme.Under the initiative, every government and private medical college will adopt one taluk hospital, one community health centre and one primary health centre and provide specialist medical services, training, quality improvement and other healthcare support, according to the circular.The health centres to be adopted will be identified district-wise.
