talkSPORT have you covered with horse racing tips for Saturday’s meetings at Doncaster at the St Leger Festival and a big card at Chester.Tom Lunn has gone through the racecard, form, going, race replays and much more to help guide your betting choices with horse racing tips on the day’s action.Today’s racing tips brought to you by talkSPORT’s tipster Tom LunnGETTYtalkSPORT BET Betting Offer – Get up to £30 in free bets – CLAIM HERE*Saturday horse racing tipsDoncaster13:45 – Desert Castle 1/1 (1pt)14:20 – Desert Falcon 14/1 & Twilight Calls 13/2 (1pt each)15:35 – Highwayman 14/1 (1pt)Chester13:30 – Dubai Honour 4/5 (1pt)Desert CastleWilliam Buick is jetting off to Woodbine rather than taking these rides at Doncaster, which means Billy Loughnane takes over as the main jockey for Charlie Appleby on Saturday.And Loughnane, attempting to become Champion Jockey this season, will be aiming to steer the favourite Desert Castle to victory in this Champagne Stakes.Sergei Diaghilev stepped up to 1m last time out and won well and does look very interesting splitting the difference and taking on this 7f contest, but it looks set to be a classy performance from the promising Desert Castle who won noticeably well on debut.Desert Falcon & Twilight CallsWith a bit of a coincidence the next tip is also named Desert, but this horse has shown potential which can help justify backing a 14/1 shot that has placed ninth in his last two outings.He steps down to 51/2f for the first time but has won over a furlong longer at this track in the St Leger Festival last year.He’s since had two wind ops, with the latest really seeming to take effect and was just over two lengths behind the winner on return at York in August which was at 6f.Only drops down 100 yards for this race and could be incredibly dangerous back to the same weight he was when a neck second in the Ayr Gold Cup last year in a field of 25.Another 2lb drop from his latest outing, his second run after a wind op, and first time visor equipped might see him surprise a few – while his odds could well drift.Meanwhile Twilight Calls is a great addition in a big field handicap to go each-way again, this eight-year-old has had a huge resurgence this season winning three of his last four and climbing from a rating of 80 to 94 and showing no signs of stopping.All three of those wins have come under Saffie Osborne who can clearly get a good tune out of this experienced and former Group 1 sprinter.HighwaymanChristmas Day is by Camelot who placed an incredibly close second in the 2012 St Leger is a bit of a gamble, but having tipped this horse in his last two runs.He wasn’t beaten by much when facing the talented Benvenuto Cellini after winning the Derby, but then failed to fire at York in the Voltigeur Stakes.And it’s just yet another Derby winner who has struggled to retain his prominence in a bizarre trend that seems to be plaguing these Classic winners.Enceladus takes a huge leap from a Group 3 win to a British Classic, but has won three on the bounce for Joseph Patrick O’Brien who’s been having a fantastic season.He may well have benefitted from a fairly weak 1m4f contest last time out in which second placed Geryon who set the standard off a big rating was stepped up to 1m4f for the first time, then subsequently stepped back in trip at York and didn’t go well in fifth beaten by 12 lengths.Pierre Bonnard has been with Christmas Day in each of his last three including seventh when ten lengths behind him in the Derby, but then went much closer at York last time out when second to Maltese Cross.His lack of wins since October 2025 is a big concern though, even if also by Camelot, where the could be some improvement here stepped up in trip from 1m4f to the extended 1m6f in the St Leger.That leaves us with only outsiders where I can’t seem to get past the potential of Highwayman, who’s also looking to make history with Saffie Osborne on board.He’s one of the few that has form over 1m6f and surprised everyone when winning in listed company at Leopardstown in August, beating Cannes by over two lengths.He’s been fantastic and a completely different horse since being stepped up to these bigger stamina tests, and though has to improve could well be a St Leger in the making for trainer Patrick O’Brien who as previously mentioned has been flying.Dubai HonourMight well be a short priced favourite, but at 4/5 still looks like getting the job done of this lofty mark.He’s clear of the rest of the field in that regard and went close to Wine Dark Sea last time out showing he’s still capable after that little break during the summer.This is a horse that has scooped over £5million in earnings and should surely win this nicely.talkSPORT BET Boosted Favourites30 minutes before the start of every UK & IRE race, we are boosting either the favourite or 2nd fav to win!Get the latest price boosts here18+.
