A choosy beggar is someone who is choosy, yes, you got that right. When youre hungry and have no allergies or anything you can medically not eat for any reason, and then ask for sweets and non-necessities, youre begging for something you chose - a choosing beggar. Why do I have to explain this to you? Its tone deaf - many people are struggling right now, yet theyre not asking for fucking soda and chocolate syrup. When youre reliant on the goodwill of other people to feed yourself, while having pets (!!!), you take what you can. Yes, poor people deserve to have a treat, every now and then, too, but dont go asking random strangers to provide them with those. Its a slap in the face for everybody whos in a dire financial situation and actually tries to budget and feed themselves with what they have. Soda? Chocolate syrup? I'm sorry but if youre broke, these are luxuries, not necessities. People willingly donate stuff to food banks - if you get it from there: great, but dont go asking individuals to fund your sweet tooth, Jesus Christ, just makes you look out of touch with reality.
