Steve St. Felix is facing two counts of attempted murder after police say he deliberately used his car to run over two strangers in separate incidents just hours apart in Florida. The attacks happened in and around Miami Gardens on a Friday night, with police saying St. Felix appeared to randomly pick his victims. He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. According to Guessing Headlights, the first incident happened around 8:00 p.m. near the Miami Gardens Police Department. St. Felix was reportedly driving a white Toyota Corolla when he saw a man carrying a bag near the entrance of the station. The man was later identified as an Uber Eats delivery driver who was making a routine drop-off. He said he just wanted to hurt people Police say St. Felix later admitted that seeing the delivery driver suddenly made him want to hurt him. He made a U-turn and accelerated toward the driver. The delivery driver managed to jump out of the way just before the Corolla reached him. St. Felix missed the man but crashed into a nearby pedestrian handrail. He then backed up and drove away. About an hour later, police say St. Felix was at a nearby Aldi. He reportedly sat inside his idling car until he spotted another person walking toward the store. The shopper later told investigators that he heard a car engine rev before seeing the white sedan make a sharp U-turn and accelerate toward him. This time, St. Felix allegedly hit the person. The impact threw the shopper onto the hood of the Corolla and shattered the windshield. He then rolled onto the pavement, suffering severe abrasions to his ribs and right arm. Emergency medical personnel treated him at the scene. St. Felix then abandoned the damaged Toyota Corolla on Northwest 30th Court and fled on foot. But he apparently left something behind that would make it much easier for investigators to identify him. His official work ID card was still hanging from the rearview mirror After leaving the car, St. Felix walked more than a mile to a RaceWay gas station. Around 11:00 p.m., he called emergency services from the station, identified himself and confessed to both hit-and-run incidents. Officers arrived at the gas station shortly afterward and took him into custody without further resistance. During questioning, St. Felix reportedly told investigators that both incidents were intentional. He allegedly said that he suddenly wanted to hurt random people. He also told police that he was not taking his prescribed medications. St. Felix was processed and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. During his initial court appearance, a judge ordered that he be held without bond because of the alleged threat he poses to the public.
