A 21-year-old woman has been remanded to Luzira Prison over the alleged aggravated robbery and murder of her colleague, Jovia Namuwulya, a bar waitress.Patricia Rose Turindwamukama, a resident of Bukoto I Parish in Nakawa Division, appeared before City Hall Court senior principal grade one magistrate Nicholas Aisu on Monday.Prosecution alleges that Turindwamukama, together with another person still at large, robbed Namuwulya of several items, including an iPhone 12 Pro Max valued at Shs 2 million, a handbag worth Shs 150,000, clothes valued at Shs 200,000 and a passport, before murdering her.The alleged offences were committed during the night of August 20, 2026, at Mukalazi Zone in Bukoto I Parish, according to the charge sheet. Prosecution further alleges that a knife, described in the charge sheet as a deadly weapon, was used during the alleged robbery.State Attorney Mercy Yamangusho told court that investigations into the matter were still ongoing. The magistrate remanded Turindwamukama to Luzira Women’s Prison until September 22, 2026.Turindwamukama was arrested on August 24, four days after Namuwulya’s death, at a friend’s home in Mbuya, Nakawa Division. Police have also indicated in their preliminary investigations that Turindwamukama applied for an Iraqi visa on August 21, a day after the alleged murder.In a narration shared on social media before her arrest, Turindwamukama gave her account of the events leading to Namuwulya’s death. She claimed that on the night in question, she and Namuwulya slept with a man in a threesome escapade, but Namuwulya allegedly later allegedly robbed the man of a substantial amount of money.According to Turindwamukama’s account, the man later went to the place where the two women were staying, demanding the return of his money.
