A routine flight took an uncomfortable turn for a woman after a man sitting beside her made a comment that left her uneasy. Another passenger noticed the interaction and reported it to the flight crew. The crew later moved the woman and the other passenger to another part of the plane. In a TikTok video, Steph Bohrer said she took an overnight flight from Charleston, South Carolina, to Portland, Maine. She said she had been assigned seat 21F, a window seat she got without paying extra, and boarded without expecting anything unusual. When she reached her row, Steph said she found a man in the middle seat and a young woman in the aisle seat. Rather than stand up, he patted his lap and told her, “come on over.” She said she forced a laugh, assuming it was a strange joke. He stayed seated and asked, “Are you coming?” as if she was expected to climb over him to reach her seat. The man’s comments continued after he took his seat He eventually stood up, but the comments did not stop there. Once seated between the two women, he told them, “I’m the luckiest guy on this plane,” loud enough that other passengers turned to look, she said. He also asked their ages and whether either of them was traveling alone. She briefly worried the crew was removing her from the flight. Instead, the crew moved both women to open seats at the front after a passenger seated behind them reported the man for harassing them, similar to another flight incident involving a passenger stepping in. The man, confused, kept asking the attendant, “Did I do something wrong?” according to her account. The two women realized they had both felt uncomfortable with what had happened once they sat together. The younger woman admitted she had lied about being 17 so the man would stop asking questions, per the video. After landing, both said they ran through the airport, worried he might catch up with them. The clip drew comments from other flyers sharing stories of their own. One commenter wrote, “I am so sick of creepy ass men. I’m so sorry.” Another argued the moment called for a firmer line, writing, “The proper response is ‘sir, don’t be gross, get up and move.” Another commenter praised the passenger who reported the man, writing, “Men holding other men accountable is so healing!” Four days later, back at the airport for her return flight, she said she spotted the same man again at her gate. She said she kept hoping she would not be seated next to him. This time, she wasn’t. He did not appear to notice her at all, she said.
