Srinivasa Rao said political parties, associations, and organisations had a fundamental right in a democracy to bring their grievances to the notice of the government through protests. Denying them that right was undemocratic, he added.“Instead of trading challenges and counter-challenges, the government should order a judicial inquiry into the allegations concerning the DSC sports quota appointments, which would bring out the facts. It was not appropriate to involve teachers in the issue for the government’s own interests.
