Halloween may still be more than a month away, but Walt Disney World is already reaching an important turning point in its 2026 seasonal calendar.Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has effectively reached the end of its ticket-selling season. Every remaining event night is now unavailable, meaning guests who waited until September to purchase tickets have essentially missed their opportunity.The 2026 sellout happened particularly quickly. Every remaining party date became unavailable by mid-September, with August 30 standing as the only event night of the season that actually occurred without selling out.Credit: Steven Miller, FlickrThat means Disney’s attention can now shift toward Christmas.And for guests hoping to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Disney Jollywood Nights, the next several weeks could become increasingly important.Halloween Tickets Are Essentially GoneDisney World’s Halloween season is far from finished.Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party continues through October 31, and Magic Kingdom will remain firmly in Halloween mode for several more weeks. However, there is an important difference between the events happening and Disney continuing to sell tickets for them.The selling phase is over.By September 12, only three Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates remained available. Those were September 24, September 29, and October 25. Within days, those remaining tickets disappeared.It continues a remarkable run for the Halloween event.Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party completely sold out in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. In 2026, the remaining dates were gone by mid-September.So, even though Halloween is still dominating Magic Kingdom right now, Disney has little left to sell on that front.Christmas is next.Disney World Shifts Toward Its Christmas PartiesThere are two major separately ticketed Christmas events returning to Walt Disney World this year: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom and Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.Interestingly, as of September 21, neither event has started posting the kind of widespread sellouts that we just watched happen with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.That probably won’t last forever.We would expect Christmas party sellouts to begin appearing as guests move beyond their Halloween planning and start locking in November and December trips.Based on how these events typically trend, it would not be surprising to see the first sold-out Christmas dates appear this week or within the coming weeks.Of course, there is no guarantee that a particular date will disappear immediately. But guests interested in specific nights should probably pay much closer attention to availability from this point forward.Credit: DisneyMickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Begins November 8The biggest holiday event at Walt Disney World returns to Magic Kingdom on November 8.Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will operate on 25 select nights between November 8 and December 22.The November dates are November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, and 29.The December dates are December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, and 22.The party runs from 7 p.m. until midnight. However, guests holding an event ticket can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m.Guests also do not need a separate daytime theme park ticket or park reservation when entering Magic Kingdom at 4 p.m. or later using their party ticket.Once the event officially begins, Magic Kingdom transforms into a Christmas celebration filled with special entertainment and seasonal offerings.Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is one of the signature experiences. The event also includes Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks and complimentary holiday treats.It’s one of the biggest seasonal transformations Disney offers each year.Once November arrives, Magic Kingdom makes a dramatic jump from pumpkins and Halloween decorations to Christmas trees, holiday music, festive entertainment, and snow falling along Main Street, U.S.A.And that transition isn’t very far away anymore.Jollywood Nights Is Also ReturningMagic Kingdom isn’t the only park preparing for a major seasonal change.Disney Jollywood Nights will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, giving Walt Disney World another separately ticketed Christmas event.Jollywood Nights provides a very different experience from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.While Magic Kingdom embraces a more traditional Disney Christmas atmosphere, Jollywood Nights mixes the holidays with the classic Hollywood feel of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.The event has continued to evolve since Disney first introduced it, and it gives guests another option for experiencing Walt Disney World after regular park hours during the holiday season.Most importantly, Jollywood Nights tickets are now part of the same conversation as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets.Neither event has seen dates begin disappearing yet.But that could change quickly.The Next Sellout Watch BeginsThis is where things get interesting.For much of the summer, the ticket availability story at Walt Disney World centered on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.Dates gradually disappeared from the calendar until only a handful remained. Then those disappeared, too.Now the clock effectively resets for Christmas.There is no guarantee that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Jollywood Nights will follow exactly the same sales pattern as the Halloween event. Demand varies by event, price, and date, and Disney does not publicly disclose exactly how many tickets remain available for individual nights.Still, there are certain dates worth watching simply because of their placement on the calendar.Weekend events, nights surrounding Thanksgiving, and dates closer to Christmas could become particularly important as November approaches.Guests who need one exact date also have much less flexibility than someone who can choose from several party nights.That’s especially relevant after seeing what happened with Halloween.On September 12, three Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates were still available. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is still running. Halloween merchandise, decorations, and entertainment remain part of the current experience.But from a planning standpoint, Walt Disney World has reached a clear seasonal changeover.Disney can no longer sell most guests another Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket because the remaining dates are gone.The next major separately ticketed seasonal events on the calendar are Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights.That makes the second half of September an interesting point in Disney World’s calendar.Halloween is still happening inside the parks, but Christmas has effectively become the next major event Disney needs to sell.And with no Christmas party dates sold out yet, guests currently have something that Halloween visitors no longer have: options.The question is how long that lasts.If recent seasonal ticket trends continue, we’d expect the first Christmas party sellouts to begin appearing soon, potentially as early as this week, with additional nights disappearing throughout the coming weeks.For guests already holding Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets, nothing changes.
