"Refugees" means they have been moved from the place where they were originally living and placed somewhere where it's safe. I assume these backpacks are for school, so the kids are now going to be going to school with the local kids in the area where they've been moved to. The refugee kids are going to stand out like a sore thumb since they all have identical backpacks. I don't doubt this makes them feel stigmatized. UNICEF didn't get these backpacks for free. They paid for them. They also paid to have them printed with the UNICEF logo and text. They could have just as easily ordered them in multiple colors without any printing of any sort. I realized they can't just slap a picture of a copyrighted character on the bag, but they COULD buy bags that already have that character printed on them. Yes, that would cost more, but is their objective to actually help these kids, or to continue traumatizing them. Would you send your kid to school with a backpack that said "Purchased with EBT"?
