The organization, which focuses on neonatal kittens and feral cat welfare, made its stance clear through social media posts that directly addressed potential adopters with lines like, “MAGA? Nope.” and “Conservative? Nope.” One image even featured a kitten alongside the words, “NO. F—ING. Samantha Knox, the director of Itty Bitty City Kitties, has defended the group’s screening process by emphasizing that the welfare of the animals is the top priority. Knox argues that the organization evaluates public conduct and demonstrated values, noting that a history of celebrating harm or abuse toward people or animals is a major red flag. According to her, the rescue reserves the right to reject applications where an applicant’s expressed values or public statements show a failure to meet their safety and welfare standards. Knox defended the organization’s right to take these positions, citing its status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which allows for issue-based standards that align with its mission.
