My wife and I got married in a small ceremony in a room at our church officiated by one of the Pastors who did so for free for us (the room was also free). It was us, close family, and a friend who offered do to photos for us as a wedding gift. Our reception was amazing Filipino food cooked by her mom and sister with a slightly larger group of family and friends. Nothing fancy, no financial stress, and our marriage is still going strong 8 years later. No shame to those who want to spend large amounts on extravegant weddings, but they are not necessary for a happy marriage.
