$1000 for a NG is on the very high end to begin with, and they should have made it clear insurance coverage is always considered an estimate unless you wait for a prior authorization from the company. That said, you are technically responsible for provided services, regardless of coverage. I personally would discount your bill heavily, but absolutely wouldn’t make it free as we also incur a charge from the lab.
