Bred by Highview Bloodstock, the €280,000 Arqana August buy-back is trained by Brendan Walsh.Out of Burswood (Dubawi), the €240,000 Goffs Orby purchase is the first foal for his unraced dam. His granddam is the stakes winner and multiple group-placed Bastet (Giant's Causeway), herself a half-sister to two-time Australian Horse of the Year Might And Power. Bastet is best known as the G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches-winning dam of GI First Lady Stakes heroine Blowout (Dansili).Shadwell's brilliant miler is up to six winners worldwide from 24 runners. His best so far is G3 Prestige Stakes third Coaxed in the U.K. From Afar doubled his U.K. total on Thursday, while he also has winners in France (Moneefa), Ireland (Curracloe), and Japan (Texas).Euro Takes Historic Belmont OpenerAndrew Rosen homebred Lisa Joy (Too Darn Hot) became the first winner of the first race at the newly re-opened Belmont Park after clawing her way to a head victory over 1 1/4 miles on September 18 (video). The filly was part of a memorable double for Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey, who would also win the second race with Bradley Thoroughbreds, Mike Carter, Cambron Equine, and Jeff Walsh's Davidson (American Pharoah).Stakes-producing dam Royal Decree (Street Cry) has already produced a trio of black-type horses anchored by G2 Vintage Stakes hero and sire War Decree and GII Sands Point Stakes victress Skims (Frankel). After Lisa Joy, Royal Decree has a two-year-old colt by Frankel and a yearling full-brother to the winner. Second dam Ticker Tape (Royal Applause) triumphed in the American Oaks and the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, both Grade I.Darley's Too Darn Hot is responsible for 10 winners from 19 runners in the U.S. (53%). The son of Dubawi already has a pair of Grade I scorers there in Saratoga Derby victor Glacius and Title Role, who took the Belmont Derby.Wootton Bassett Filly Shines In The MidwestTeam Valor International's Unwavering Monarch ground out a victory at Laurel on September 20 (video).Trained by Graham Motion, the four-year-old filly began her career in Ireland with a debut victory last October for Mrs. R J Halley and trainer Josh Halley. Purchased by her current owners, the SARL de Chambure/Haras d'Etreham-bred made two starts in France, before being sent to the U.S. Originally a €110,000 Goffs November foal and €300,000 Arqana August yearling, the daughter of the stakes-placed Vadsariya (Exceed And Excel) changed hands again when bought by Stone Farm for 40,000gns out of the 2025 Tattersalls July Sale. From the family of G1 Prix de Diane heroine Valyra (Azamour), the Wootton Bassett filly is followed by the winning three-year-old half-sister Vathana (City Light), a yearling filly named Valenya (Ghaiyyath) who sold for €200,000 at the 2025 Arqana v.2 sale to Pia Brandt; and a weanling filly by Metropolitan.The late Coolmore sire Wootton Bassett counts 30 winners from 63 runners (47%) in the U.S. His eight stakes winners there–seven graded–are led by a trio of Breeders' Cup winners in Audarya, Unquestionable, and Henri Matisse.Third Time's A Charm For Brant Homebred Cinquante Cinq (Kingman) took three tries, but graduated at Horseshoe Indiana on Wednesday, September 23. The Peter Brant homebred is trained by Riley Mott.The second foal and first winner out of GIII Florida Oaks heroine Fifty Five (Get Stormy), the three-year-old filly has a Paddington yearling half-brother yet to race.Kingman's progeny have thrived in the U.S., and he has 57 winners from 105 runners (54%) there. The Juddmonte stallion's best progeny there include nine stakes winners, with Domestic Spending a triple Grade I winner of the Manhattan Stakes, Turf Classic Stakes and Hollywood Derby.Repeat WinnersKlaravich Stables' Dynamic Pricing (Night Of Thunder) added Belmont's Forever Together Stakes to her win column on September 20 (video). She is trained by Chad Brown.Farfellow Farms' Define (Lope De Vega) added a Churchill Downs contest on September 20 (video). The three-year-old filly is trained by Brendan Walsh.Winning for the second time in seven starts, Repole Stable and Newtown Anner Stud Farm's Teleport (Lope De Vega) won a Woodbine affair on September 24 (video).
