Raja Babu assumed charge as the ZP Special Officer in Ongole on Friday (September 25, 2026), following the completion of the Zilla Parishad chairperson’s term.Speaking on the occasion, he said that efforts would be made to ensure the uninterrupted implementation of the various welfare and development schemes introduced by the State government.The Collector informed that this tenure would continue until fresh elections are held and new chairpersons are elected. He noted that the undivided Prakasam district comprises 56 mandals and 784 MPTC constituencies.In the interim, administration will proceed in coordination with mandal and district-level officials to ensure the speedy implementation of government schemes, he said, adding that measures are being taken to resolve various issues within the Panchayat Raj system without causing inconvenience to the public.
