Texas DPS has been working with federal law enforcement to prevent the flow of illegal drugs into the United States as part of Operation Lone Star.Over 153 pounds of illegal drugs were seized earlier this week, which included over 19 million doses of fentanyl that could have resulted in fatalities. This occurred in Webb County during an inspection of a commercial vehicle.Special Agents from the Texas DPS CID unit were requested by the Border Patrol to assist in an inspection at the Laredo Port of Entry. A commercial vehicle inspection uncovered 26 pounds of methamphetamine, 18 pounds of heroin, 15 pounds of eutylone and 94 pounds of fentanyl. The narcotics have an estimated street value of more than $1.4 million.DPS special agents handled the case and made two arrests. The driver, 53-year-old Ernesto Jaime of Wisconsin, and the passenger, 51-year-old Enrique Ramirez Valle of Oklahoma. Both men have been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and were taken into custody.
