Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice from people in Zimbabwe who are working in tech, especially software engineers, AI engineers, developers, freelancers, startup founders, or anyone building tech-related income streams. I’m a Software Engineer and AI Engineer, and I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to “make it” in Zim with these skills. I’ve tried creating my own products, but I’ve found that building the product is often easier than marketing it. As a technical person, sales, distribution, finding paying customers, and positioning the product can be a very different and difficult challenge. I’d really appreciate advice from people who are already making money in tech locally or remotely. Some things I’m curious about: What tech opportunities are currently working for people in Zimbabwe? Are most people making money through remote jobs, freelancing, local clients, consulting, startups, SaaS, AI automation, or something else? Which platforms or networks are actually useful for finding paying work? Are Zimbabwean businesses paying for software, automation, websites, POS systems, AI tools, dashboards, or custom systems? For those building products, how are you handling marketing and sales? What skills or niches are currently in demand? I’m not looking for shortcuts, just practical direction from people with real experience. I’d like to understand what is actually working on the ground and what opportunities are worth pursuing.
