[New Era] African parliaments have been urged to strengthen their oversight of public finances through well-resourced and independent Parliamentary Budget Offices (PBOs) as the continent confronts rising debt vulnerabilities, illicit financial flows, procurement inefficiencies and increasing demands for public services.
