1 different organisations have come together to continue applying pressure on the Planning Authority CEO, who they believe should resign as soon as possible.“Johann Buttigieg is corrupt, there’s proof, black on white,” said Moviment Graffitti’s Andre Callus, who kicked off this morning’s press conference outside the PA’s offices in Floriana. “And even though it’s already been two weeks since these chats have been released, he’s still the head of a very important authority in Malta that literally changes the lives of communities overnight.”Buttigieg has been facing a number of calls to resign following the publication of chats between himself and business tycoon Yorgen Fenech, who earlier this month was acquitted of being involved in the assassination of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. The chats showed Buttigieg discussing business opportunities with Fenech while in office, and even offering to enter into business with him.“This is a grievous institutional and political issue, not just a planning one,” Callus continued. “The message it sends out is that dirt and corruption can find a place in Malta’s highest institutions.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Joining Moviment Graffitti today were representatives from 10 other institutions: BirdLife Malta, Din l-Art Ħelwa, Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar, Friends of the Earth Malta, Front Żgħażagħ għall-Ambjent, Għawdix, Il-Kollettiv, Nature Trust Malta, Ramblers Association Malta and Wirt Għawdex.Just two days ago, activists from Moviment Graffitti and Friends of the Earth wearing pig masks crashed a conference in St Julian’s which had both Buttigieg and Infrastructure Minister Jonathan Attard in attendance. What do you make of this latest action?•
