Rodri has responded strongly after Manchester City were found guilty of most of their charges of financial breaches.The charges, which are split into five specific sections, were first brought against the Citizens back in February 2023. What has Rodri said about City being found guilty?“They always express the confidence that they never did something wrong and we believe in that,” Rodri said.“Until the moment they are proved wrong, we will believe the club. They always tell us the confidence they have on the innocence.”The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner ended his seven-year spell at City when he moved to Barcelona in the summer for a fee in the region of £65.3 million. Back in 2020, City were barred from featuring in the Champions League for two seasons by UEFA and fined €30million for alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play rules. However, they were cleared of these charges by the Court of Arbitration for Sport following a successful appeal with the fine also reduced to just €9million. During that time, the Cityzens won eight trophies, including three league titles, three League Cups, one FA Cup, and one Community Shield.Rodri dismissed any talk of City perhaps being stripped of some of the titles they won during this timeframe as punishment. “What we did, they cannot take out of us,” the World Cup winner added. “It’s something that is not paid by money. “It’s paid with effort, with the damage, with, you know, being shoulder to shoulder every day.“I can tell you that everything was deserved, and I’m glad that I could live one of the best eras of English football in here.”
