A magnitude 5.2 earthquake occurred just 17 minutes ago, 71 km southeast of Kokopo, Papua New Guinea, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.The quake struck at a moderately shallow depth of 58. km beneath the epicenter near Kokopo, Kokopo District, East New Britain Province, Papua New Guinea, on the morning of Sunday, September 27th, 2026, at 7:49 am local time.
