A Maltese lawyer living in London is preparing to run a gruelling 134 kilometres in just two days to raise money for frontline medics in Ukraine. This October, Jasmin will take on the mammoth endurance challenge along Hadrian’s Wall together with her friend Deaglan, who currently lives and works in Ukraine. The pair are raising funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 67th Medical Brigade, with the money set to go towards medical supplies and equipment for medics working on the frontline. For Jasmin, the cause is one she has experienced at close quarters. The Maltese national is a Partner and solicitor at Proelium Law, where she works in the defence sector, and says she has been deployed to Ukraine several times since the war began.“It’s a country and a cause I’ve come to know first-hand, which is part of why this run means so much to me,” she told Lovin Malta.Despite now living and working in London, Jasmin says Malta remains very much home, with all of her family still based on the island. And running 134km across two days isn’t her first extreme endurance challenge for a cause.Last year, Jasmin completed a 106km run across the Sahara Desert to raise money for UK veterans. Now, she’s stepping things up even further. Her latest challenge will see her and Deaglan tackle 134km along Hadrian’s Wall over two days, all with the aim of supporting medical teams working in Ukraine.Anyone wishing to support Jasmin and Deaglan’s challenge is able to donate through Volunteers for Ukraine’s fundraising page.Jasmin is hoping people back home in Malta will get behind the challenge as she prepares to take on one of her toughest runs yet.Good luck Jasmin!•
