Last season was very difficult for Martin Odegaard, as he was plagued by several injuries that denied him the opportunity to compete regularly for Arsenal.The midfielder had been in fantastic form for much of his time at the club, but the previous campaign proved a major struggle as he tried to remain fit and available for selection.Arsenal consider Odegaard one of their most important stars, but they need him on the pitch to benefit fully from having him in their squad. His repeated setbacks made it difficult for him to build consistency and contribute as regularly as he would have wanted.He has returned in better shape this term after his superb contribution to Norway during the World Cup and has now reflected on the season when injuries repeatedly frustrated him. Speaking about the difference between the two seasons, the midfielder said via Sport Witness:“Compared to last year – which was a very peculiar season with numerous injuries and various other issues – things are different now.“When you do everything, you can every day to take care of your body, yet still get so many punches in the face, it’s obviously tough.”For Arsenal, having Odegaard fit and available gives them another opportunity to benefit from his quality in midfield.
