It started with a simple thought: I can actually do this. I just need to push myself and commit to it. The start was slow. I had to buy the equipment I needed, register as a sole trader, learn how the app stores worked, build the website and figure out countless things I had never dealt with before. Then came the actual app. I built NXTSTEP around bodybuilding and strength training, something I’m genuinely interested in myself. Since then I’ve spent months improving it, redesigning parts of it, adding features, fixing problems and constantly trying to make it better. A massive part of that progress has come from the feedback I’ve received from people in this community. Some of the criticism has made me completely rethink parts of the app, and looking back at where it started compared to where it is now is honestly crazy. And now it has officially made money on both platforms. It’s still very early days. I’m nowhere near where I want it to be yet, but that first bit of revenue makes everything feel a lot more real. I genuinely believe NXTSTEP can become something, and for the first time it feels like it’s beginning to work. If you’re building something yourself and progress feels painfully slow, keep going. A few months ago this was just an idea in my head. Now it’s a real business, a real app, and real people are paying for it. Still plenty of work to do, but this feels like a massive milestone for me.
