View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Addressing international leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Abela said Malta continues to condemn Russia’s occupation of Crimea and maintained that actions undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states violate the principles of the UN Charter.“Lasting peace must be built on the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law,” Abela said in a post following the summit.The Prime Minister also addressed the transfer and deportation of Ukrainian children from occupied territories, arguing that every child unlawfully taken must be returned and stressing the importance of accountability for breaches of international law.“Justice for victims and accountability for those who violate international law are essential to building lasting peace,” he said, while reaffirming Malta’s support for international courts, tribunals and accountability mechanisms.Abela concluded by saying Malta would continue working with international partners towards what he described as a just and lasting peace based on sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law.What do you make of Malta’s position on Ukraine?Instagram Video: robertabela.mt•
