I saw a post on X where someone had the latest Claude create an image this way, and wondered how a local model would do. It's of course less advanced, but it's still mind-blowing to me that you can download a general-purpose AI and it can autonomously draw a coherent picture. This was Qwen3.8-Flash-Next (exl3 6.05 bpw) at xhigh reasoning, running in pi (so it could run the code and view the resulting image and iterate on it). It used about 131k tokens.
