John Farrugia, affectionately known as “Johnie tan-Neonglow”, has passed away aged 95.For more than seven decades, John dedicated his life to the art of neon, with his work lighting up businesses and landmarks across Malta and Gozo.He founded Neonglow in 1975, turning his craft into a family legacy and passing his knowledge and skills down through the generations.Remarkably, John continued practising the craft he loved until the end, with his family sharing a photograph of him working on the final neon piece he ever made.“Your light will live on,” Neonglow wrote while announcing his passing.Funeral details will be announced at a later stage.Neonglow’s office and workshop will remain closed until further notice following John’s passing.Lovin Malta extends its heartfelt condolences to John’s family, friends and all those who knew him.•
