The woman found dead in a field in Marsa earlier today has been identified as 47-year-old Miriam Azzopardi from St Paul’s Bay, according to ONE.com.mtThe outlet reported that investigators are currently gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area as they work to establish the circumstances leading to Azzopardi’s death.According to the report, investigators are not excluding the possibility that her body may have been transported to the field and that she may have died elsewhere.ONE News also reported that preliminary investigations indicate that Azzopardi appeared to have marks consistent with pressure around her neck.The outlet further reported that investigators are not ruling out the possible involvement of third parties.Earlier today, police confirmed that the 47-year-old woman was found at around 10.20am after officers on patrol were approached by a member of the public who alerted them to a lifeless woman in a field near Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa.Police had previously stressed that nothing was being ruled out and that forensic examinations were underway to establish the cause and circumstances of her death.Magistrate Joe Mifsud is leading a judicial inquiry, while police investigations remain ongoing•
