Maltese hospitality group Corinthia is set to develop an ultra-luxury hotel and branded residential project on Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos.The project is being developed in partnership with Carolina Partners Ltd. on what Corinthia describes as the last remaining undeveloped beachfront parcel on this stretch of Grace Bay.The development is being led by Corinthia Real Estate Ventures (C-REV), the Group’s real estate investment and development arm, under Managing Partners Marcus Pisani and Alex Chazkel. View this post on InstagramA post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)The project will comprise an ultra-luxury Corinthia-branded hotel alongside a limited collection of fully serviced branded residences, including beachfront villas, casitas and condominiums.The site has been assembled over more than 25 years by the Cummings family, with Karen Cummings, managing member of Carolina Partners Ltd, first visiting Turks and Caicos more than two decades ago before acquiring the first parcel of land and subsequently expanding the property.According to Cummings, the vision was to create a development that would complement the natural setting of Grace Bay.“After discussions with many potential partners, it was clear that Corinthia was the group that could fulfil that dream,” she said, describing the group’s design and service standards as a strong fit for the project.Corinthia Group CEO Simon Naudi said the partnership brings together the Cummings family’s longstanding connection to Turks and Caicos with Corinthia’s development and hotel management expertise.“This project is another important step in Corinthia’s international growth, bringing together exceptional real estate, aligned capital partners, and our development and hotel management expertise,” Naudi said.The resort is planned around its beachfront location, with architecture, landscaping and the surrounding coastal environment forming key elements of the design.Facilities are expected to include a spa and wellness centre, multiple swimming pools, a beach club, signature restaurants, retail spaces and padel courts, alongside a range of curated lifestyle experiences.The architectural concept takes inspiration from the calm, shallow waters of the Caicos Banks, with the design focused on understated architecture, natural ventilation and connections between indoor and outdoor spaces.“This is a rare opportunity to develop a world-class hotel and branded residential destination in one of the Caribbean’s most sought-after locations,” added Alex Chazkel, Managing Partner of C-REV.The project is currently progressing towards formal planning approval, with construction expected to begin in 2027.The Turks and Caicos development represents C-REV’s entry into North America and forms part of Corinthia’s wider international expansion, with projects either recently opened or announced across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.Corinthia Group, which trades as IHI plc, was founded in Malta in 1962 and operates as an investor, developer and operator of Corinthia-branded hotels and residences.
