Trump previously announced his plans to build the helipad in July. “For 50 years, we’ve been landing helicopters on grass. The grass is wet, soggy. The helicopters sometimes miss their little mark,” Trump said, noting the various problems with landing Marine One on the grass.“Now we’re building a helipad, beautiful helipad, and it’s got the seal of the White House on it in granite, in carved granite. It’s really a beautiful thing.”He also said the entire project would be paid for by Sikorsky Aircraft, the helicopter manufacturer that provides the Marine One helicopters. “They’re paying the full cost, and when I heard they were paying the cost, I went out and said, ‘Let’s do a beauty.
