Full Strides: My first Swift app is in the App Store, took 3 names to get here

Wait 5 sec.

An elegant steps counter is the real reason this app exists. I wanted to open my phone and see my step count, big, with nothing else fighting for space. Then see my runs and workouts without digging through Apple Health or getting upsold a subscription. Garmin Connect used to be kinda that before it started to suck. Full Strides is my first build in Swift. Mercury Weather was the inspiration. I wanted that level of clean for activity data. The home screen is just your steps on a blue background, and it rolls up from the last number you saw. No rings, no text box or AI explainers or articles everywhere. Activities gives every run, walk, and ride its own card, plus totals by week, month, and year. There's also Recovery, Readiness, Stress, and Sleep scores, the stuff other apps put behind a sub. All free. The only thing you can pay for is extra color themes, one time $9.99, basically a support the dev button. The name took a minute. It launched as Cinder with an orange flame icon, and on a home screen it looked like Tinder. Not ideal for a step counter. Then I went with Briis until someone on here pointed out it reads as "bris" and taught me what that meant. Full Strides is attempt number three at naming. Someday I may commission a real app icon for now its font on a background. Would love feedback on the UI especially. submitted by /u/drewlioski [link] [comments]
