The company built this position through repeated purchases across several years.Between September 14 and September 20, Strategy did not sell any shares through its at the market stock program. The company kept its focus on Bitcoin instead of raising fresh cash through new stock sales.Strategy also repurchased $174 million worth of its preferred stock during that same window. This was included in the same SEC filing as the Bitcoin purchase.Bitcoin ETF Money Is MovingFidelity’s Bitcoin ETF, known as FBTC, overtook BlackRock’s IBIT in ETF flows this week. Two weeks earlier, IBIT had been leading FBTC by close to six times in inflows.On September 18, FBTC pulled in $306 million. That was close to three times what IBIT brought in that same day.Bitcoin climbed toward $81,000 on the same day FBTC saw its inflow jump. The price move came as investors shifted more money toward Fidelity’s fund.Saylor also commented this week on the CLARITY Act, a bill that was rejected. He said crypto companies would be better off working directly with the SEC, the CFTC, the Treasury and other regulators instead of settling for a compromise bill.He suggested companies use the next few years to build their businesses and grow adoption. He said this should happen while regulators write rules under the authority they already hold.Strategy’s finances have shifted a great deal in the past few weeks. Just weeks ago, the company was sitting on $10 billion in unrealized losses.Now, with Bitcoin trading above $80,000, Strategy holds $8 billion in unrealized gains.
